As we head back-to-school, students are entering classrooms that are more connected than ever. At Connect Ohio, we are participating in a variety of educational technology initiatives, including the newly launched program, Edified.
Edified is Connected Nation's new education initiative that seeks to increase the deployment of the latest mobile technology, robust wireless connectivity, education apps, and twenty-first century teaching practice in America's K-12 schools, colleges, and universities. Edified builds partnerships with technology companies, education research organizations, broadband providers, and distinguished educators who desire to work collaboratively to promote technology solutions that have great potential to revolutionize learning and education outcomes.

As schoolchildren return to the classroom in the next few weeks, efforts like these cannot be understated. More than 7.7 million households with children do not subscribe to home broadband service. This represents more than 14.8 million student-aged children living in those homes. Connected Nation, along with our partners, is tirelessly seeking new innovative ways to connect schools, homes, and businesses in communities across the county. The future is online, and we're delivering the tools, infrastructure, and education to get people connected.
During this month, we invite you to explore Edified and other success stories of technology in education.
