New Printers Distributed to New Computer Users

By Lyndsey Kleven

In January, partner organizations of the Every Citizen Online free basic computer-training program received 910 new printers from Connect Ohio. The printers were donated by Lexmark, are wireless, and valued at nearly $100 each.

Printers were distributed among the training sites for use as individualized ECO promotions or to fulfill printer needs for the organizations. Many sites chose to distribute the new printers by means of random drawing among ECO participants completing the training, with many printers still left to be distributed!

The ECO training program is available to any Ohio adult and consists of 6 hours of basic training. The curriculum covers computer basics, an introduction to the Internet, and an overview of the many benefits of using the Internet.
