Intelliwave Announces First Gigabit Fiber-To-The-Home in Central Ohio

By Amanda Murphy

Intelliwave Broadband has announced the construction of a new Gigabit Fiber Optic broadband network in two rural areas  south of Columbus. According to the company’s press release, gigabit fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) is available to homes and businesses in Amanda and Commercial Point, Ohio. The network is expected to extend to more than 1,000 doorsteps by the end of 2016 and thousands more in 2017.

“These investments mark Intelliwave’s continued passion for serving the underserved communities of rural Ohio,” said Chris Cooper, Intelliwave CEO. “The leadership in both Amanda and Commercial Point welcomed us heartily and consumer demand for ultra-fast broadband has been fantastic.”

“Establishing a trusted partnership was key,” said Gary Joiner, Commercial Point Mayor.
